Biographical Sketch
My background is very diverse, I retired from the US Army in 2012 at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, during my 32 years of service both active duty and national guard I have had the great pleasure of serving with the finest that American has to offer both peace time and war time. I have served as a strategic planner for the Secretary of Defense (HON. William Gates), Executive officer to a 4 star General, senior planner at Corp level aviation operation in Baghdad IR, Director of Safety, Director of aviation logistic and maintenance, trained as an Air Traffic Control officer, and served as both a Company and Battalion Commander.
I graduated from Indiana State University with a degree in Aviation. I completed military flight school at Fort Rucker AL in 1986. I hold an Airline Transport Pilot certificate airplane and commercial certificate rotorcraft. I’m type rated in the Embraer 145 and Jetstream 31. I have a total of 7000+- hours of flight time in both military and civilian aircraft. Military aircraft types are, TH 55, UH-1, OH-58, UH-60, U-21, My Civilian airframes, are the Tomahawk, Arrow, Aztec, C-152 aerobat, Cheyenne, King Air B100, 200, 300, Merlin IIB and IIIB, Metro IV, Jetstream 31 and Embraer 145.
I learned to fly under a part 61 and have flown Part 91, 135, and 121 operations. I have been a chief pilot VFR rotorcraft operation and Director of operation for a part 135 IFR operation. My time flying the Metro IV, J31 and the EMB 145 were all part 121 operations both as a first officer and captain.
I have and I am currently volunteering my time coaching youth baseball, and treasurer of the Ingleside Beach Club. Back in Indiana I was a member of my local volunteer fire department where I was school trained as an intermediate Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-I), and hold a master category firefighter with inspection endorsement. I am member of the American Logion post, and currently a member of American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) Certified Member.
In my down time I enjoy first and foremost spending time with my family, together we play golf, riding horses, kayaking, fishing and traveling.
