Bio

Tony Lombardi has been the Gillespie County Airport Manager since Mar 2017. Tony took this position after retiring from a 27-year Air Force career. As an USAF officer, Tony reached the rank of Lt Colonel and was a C-130 pilot. Tony flew all round the world and supported numerous OPERATIONS (Restore Hope, Uphold Democracy, Southern Watch, OEF, OIF and GWOT). During one of his military assignments, Tony was stationed at Johnson Space Center where he was the Human Space Flight Contingency Support Officer and the DoD liaison to the space program. While at NASA, he supported the last 12 Space Shuttle missions and helped close out the historic program. Tony has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics with a minor in Physics from Angelo State Univ. He also has a Master of Science Degree in Aeronautical Science with an Aviation Management specialty from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical Univ. Tony is married and has 5 children.
